What Can I Cook? Find Recipes With Ingredients You Have

Tell us what you have, and we will show the quick recipes you can make with it. Results are ranked by how many of each recipe's ingredients you already own, and every result lists exactly what is missing, so you know if you need a store run before you start.

How to use the What Can I Cook?

  1. Type the ingredients you have, separated by commas (for example: chicken, rice, broccoli).
  2. Leave out basics like salt, pepper, oil and water. We assume you have them.
  3. Press "Find recipes". The best matches show first, with a list of anything you are missing.
  4. Open a recipe, or use "Add to shopping list" to note the missing items.

Examples

chicken, rice, broccoli

Stir-fries, one-pan chicken and rice bowls, and casseroles come first, because they use all three.

eggs, cheese, spinach

Frittatas, breakfast wraps and quick omelets that are ready in 15 minutes.

ground beef, tortillas, cheese

Tacos, quesadillas and burrito bowls, usually missing only salsa or an onion.

Frequently asked questions

How does the ingredient search work?

We compare your ingredients with the ingredient list of every recipe on Quick Meals Guide. Recipes where you have the highest share of ingredients rank first, and pantry basics like salt, pepper, oil and water are ignored so they do not hide good matches.

Do I need to type exact amounts?

No. Just type the ingredient names. "Chicken" will match chicken breast, chicken thighs and cooked chicken.

Why does a recipe show missing ingredients?

We show recipes you can almost make, too, because one missing item is often easy to swap. Check our Ingredient Substitutions tool for ideas.

Is it free?

Yes. All our kitchen tools are free and work on phones, tablets and computers.
